Uganda has a proposed 5-year project which will be a district- based and integrated
health and health systems strengthening project in Uganda funded by the United
States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work
    with the Project Director/Chief of Party to provide direction to the
    Project
  • Provide
    technical and managerial leadership in the design, implementation and
    evaluation of project strategies
  • Assist
    in the management of the project office and personnel
  • Ensure
    the coordination between implementing partners, Ministry of Health,
    district health officials communities and other relevant stakeholders
  • Respond
    to the specified deliverables and goals of contracts and grant agreements,
    ensuring achievements in a timely manner and in full support of and
    compliance with FHI 360 contractual agreement
  • Assist
    in the completion of detailed strategy write-ups and work plans, and
    deliver quarterly reports and all other reporting requirements on time and
    within budget
  • Oversee
    the work of consultants and subcontractors, as required
  • Provide
    project compliance oversight and quality assurance monitoring to all
    technical, programmatic, administrative and financial activities.
     
Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • The
    job holder should hold MS/MA/MPH in public health or related field with at
    least eight (8) years of program management and supervisory experience on
    multi-faceted international development programs.
  • Demonstrated
    ability to create and maintain effective working relations with senior
    government personnel, NGO partners, U.S. and foreign government
    organizations, and donor partners.
  • Good
    understanding of the Ugandan context as it relates to health systems
    strengthening, HIV/AIDS. RH/FP, and other relevant health issues.
    including maternal health, malaria, and TB.
  • Experience
    working on USAID-funded programs
  • Ability
    to work independently and manage a high volume work flow
  • Computer
    literacy skills
  • Strong
    written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability
    to travel within country or region and internationally if needed.
