Accountability Programming) and livelihoods.
Job Summary: The Village Savings and Loans
Associations Officer will be responsible for the management and implementation
of GOAL Village Savings and Loans Association component of the livelihoods
project in one of the districts of Agago or Pader with strong links with WASH
and HIV projects. The incumbent will work closely with Community Based
Trainers/Volunteers to implement VSLA activities to continue monitoring and
supporting some old but not graduated groups as well as formation of new
groups.
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
  • A University degree in
    any of the following fields; agriculture, development studies, social
    sciences or its equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’
    experience in initiating and supporting the formation and effective
    functioning of VSLA groups;
  • Knowledge and
    experience in implementation of VSLA concepts, principles and methodology;
  • Staff management,
    personnel training, coaching and mentoring skills;
  • Good communication
    skills including good spoken and written English and the local language –
    Luo;
  • Willingness to live in
    a remote location;
  • Ability and
    willingness to ride a Motor cycle with a valid riding license because the
    roles involves extensive motor cycle riding
  • Good communication
    skills including good spoken and written English and the local language –
    Luo;
  • Computer literacy
    – including excel.
