About CAA:
Civil Aviation
Authority (CAA) is a corporate body responsible for the regulation of Civil
Aviation in Uganda. It manages Entebbe International Airport and 13 other
aerodromes
Up-country. CAA
carries out its work in conformity with International Civil Aviation
Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS).
Job Summary: The Senior Aerodromes Inspector
will carry out safety oversight activities in construction and operation of the
aerodromes with the objective of enhancing safe operation of aircraft in
compliance with national and international standards.
Key Result Areas:
  • Verification
    of aerodrome data in the manual.
  • On-site
    verification and audits of aerodrome operating procedures.
  • Evaluation
    and control of obstacles at the aerodrome and in the vicinity of the
    aerodrome.
  • Flying
    assessments and aeronautical studies at aerodromes.
  • Certification
    of aerodromes including receiving and processing of expressions of
    interest and applications for aerodrome certificates processing request
    for amendment, transfer or surrender of certificate.
  • Determining
    appropriate enforcement action in the event of non-compliance with the
    regulations.
  • Carries
    out safety oversight & enforcement programmes in the aerodromes & provision
    of navigation services
  • Reporting
    AIS.
  • Initiating
    NOTAMs.
  • Respond
    to identified safety shortcomings and deficiencies in the aerodromes &
    naviagation field.
 Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • A
    good Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution.
  • 5
    years working experience, 3 of which in a supervisory responsibility in
    field operations in a reputable organisation.
  • Teamwork.

    and Decision making.
  • Interpersonal
    and Communication Skills.
  • Working
    within budgets.
  • Commitment
  • Adaptability,
    promoting and handling change.
