About CAA:
Civil Aviation
Authority (CAA) is a corporate body responsible for the regulation of Civil
Aviation in Uganda. It manages Entebbe International Airport and 13 other
aerodromes
Up-country. CAA
carries out its work in conformity with International Civil Aviation
Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS).
Job Summary: The Transport and Maintenance
Officer will ensure that the vehicle fleet and equipment owned by CAA is in
good maintenance so as to ensure the service level committed to the users.
Key Result Areas:
  • Participate
    in the development of input into the development plan, budget and review
    processes as well as drawing operational plans for vehicle maintenance.
  • Develop
    and implement a comprehensive planned maintenance system that ensures
    maximum availability of adequate and efficient vehicles at the airport and
    other CAA operational areas.
  • Daily
    maintenance of vehicles and boats to ensure availability.
  • Manage
    fleet according to policy
  • Establish
    fleet management system including registration and licensing.
  • Minimise
    on fuel management and reconciliation of inputs to actual usage.
  • Supervise
    subordinate staff under the transport and mechanical section and also
    ensure they are nurtured and grow.
 Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • Degree
    in Engineering or membership of the chartered institute of logistics and
    transport.
  • Postgraduate
    qualification in a related discipline will be an advantage.
  • 7
    years working experience, 3 of which should be at senior level in a
    reputable organisation.
  • May
    be a member of Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) and
    registration for Engineers.
  • Demonstrated
    supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge
    of ICAO SARPS.
  • Computer
    literacy.
