About Us:  
Our client is a trusted Energy Sector entity with a commitment to
facilitate investment in Uganda’s renewable energy sector. In this regard, our
client provides technical assistance and new financing options to facilitate
private sector led renewable energy projects. The entity has identified need
and is desirous to recruit an exceptional individual to take up the role of
Manager, Finance and Administration.
Job Summary: The Manager,
Finance and Administration will have full responsibility for proper financial
management and accountability for the resources of the entity and general
administration of the company.
Key Duties &
Responsibilities:
  • Head the Finance and Administration
    function;
  • Developing a Financial Procedures Manual
    that is simple and easy to use;
  • Monitoring and Controlling main and
    subsidiary accounts;
  • Preparing financial forecasts (income
    statements, cash flow and balance sheet) in consultation with the General
    Manager;
  • Preparing Monthly Quarterly and Annual
    Management Accounts / Financial Reports;
  • Preparing and Submitting Financial
    Management Reports in accordance with Guidelines of Various Development
    Partners;
  • Preparing of Company budgets and Finance
    Department Work plans;
  • Establishing/Enhancing systems of internal
    control;
  • Ensuring compliance with guidelines and
    regulations of Government and Development partners;
  • Liaising with the Internal/External
    Auditors and following up any audit queries/management letters;
  • Monitoring the financial management
    aspects of the progress of contracts;
  • Ensuring timely procurement and payment
    for the goods and services provided to the company;
  • Advising the Company Management/Board on
    financial matters;
  • Manage day to day administration function.
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
  • An individual with deep understanding of
    the public financial management and administration systems, public
    accounting and stakeholder reporting procedures is preferred.
  • A person will need to have a
    strong background of professional and strategic leadership, track
    record in people management and excellent communication skills.
  • A good Honours degree in Accounting (or
    equivalent) is required.
  • Membership to a professional body (ACCA,
    CIMA, CPA, ACA, CFA) is mandatory,
  • Possession of a Master’s degree in
    Accounting or related field is an added advantage;
  • At least 5 years working experience in
    Government aided, Donor funded or large corporate organisation with at
    least three (03) years at management level;
  • Experience in Public accounting and World
    Bank Financial Management systems and procedures are added advantages;
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting
    packages is also an added advantage.
