Job Summary:
  • The management accountant
    prepares, develops and analyses key financial information to assist management
    in making well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth and
    profitability.
  • This role is responsible for
    establishing and maintaining financial policies and management information
    systems, as well as provides a high quality support service by liaising with
    management colleagues on all aspects of finance.
  • The role combines accounting
    skills with business management skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create, implement and monitor processes
    and procedures around the creation of monthly forecasts;
  • Produce the budget and quarterly
    forecasts for approval by the Finance Committee;
  • Provide variance analysis from budget,
    identify added-value reporting opportunities for trend analysis and
    commentary to assist forecasting and budget requirements;
  • Maintain records and reconciliation
    controls of approved budgets;
  • Prepare periodic
    (monthly/quarterly/annual/ad-hoc) financial statements, including profit
    and loss accounts, balance sheet reports and cash flows;
  • Provide a support service by working
    with all departments and the management team to help make financial
    decisions;
  • Ensure spending is kept in line with the
    budget;
  • Inform key strategic decisions and
    formulate business strategies;
  • Advise on the financial implications and
    consequences of business decisions;
  • Analyse financial performance and so
    contribute to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts;
  • Assistance with preparation of
    consolidated group financial statements and interim reports under IFRS
  • Offer professional judgment on financial
    matters and advise on ways of improving business performance;
  • Interpret and communicate financial data
    to non-financial managers;
  • Liaise with other function managers to
    put the finances and accounts in context;
  • Assist with the audit preparation work
    to allow for timely completion of the annual financial statements and
    corporation tax returns;
  • Monitor and evaluate financial
    information systems and suggest improvements where needed;
  • Implement corporate governance
    procedures, risk management and internal controls.
 Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of two years management
    accounting experience in a fast growth organisation
  • Part qualified accountant or a finalist
    with a very strong academic background
  • Bachelors Degree in a accounting or
    finance
  • Master in Business Administration
    (Majoring in Finance) preferred
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Highly analytical with good presentation
    skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation
    skills required to liaise with both financial and non-financial
    individuals.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent accounting software skills;
    QuickBooks is a plus
  • Drive to continually improve processes
    and seek new challenges
  • Ability to work well under pressure,
    working accurately with attention to detail, and meeting deadlines
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Honesty and discretion
