About NORGESVEL: 
To spur
development in our country, local expertise and entrepreneurial ideas have to
be developed holistically into sustainable businesses. The energy sector has
large potential for such new companies and investments, for example within
off-grid electrification, mini hydropower, solar electricity, solar heat and
bioenergy. New and existing renewable energy companies can utilize renewable
energy in a sustainable and financially beneficial manner. To support the
efforts of such local renewable energy companies, there is a need for
cooperation between entrepreneurs, SMEs, financing institutions, authorities,
universities and others. A Renewable Energy Incubator is established at
Makerere University, to support the development of local Renewable Energy (RE)
companies. There are currently two staff members in the Renewable Energy
Incubator. The Incubator establishment is funded by Nordic Climate Facility and
NORAD on project basis.  
Job Summary:  The
Incubator Engineer will be supporting new and existing companies in developing
their companies, and should have experience in energy, business development and
entrepreneurship. The Incubator Engineer will be working with specific
renewable energy fields, such as small scale hydropower or solar energy, and
technical knowledge from such fields is an advantage.
Qualification, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s
    or MSc Degree in Engineering, renewable energy or its equivalent and a
    background in business management.
  • Relevant
    working experience, network and/or knowledge about the energy sector will
    be added advantage.
