HR Jobs – Human Resource Manager at Manufacturing Group

About Us:
We ensure our clients have the right people in the right roles at the
right time to deliver results. 
Our client is a member of a leading manufacturing Group of metal
roofing and allied building products. They produce and distribute galvanised
(zinc) coated iron roofing sheets and coloured (pre-painted) steel roofing sheets
in various profiles; black pipes, sections, z-purlins, windows & door
frames, plates etc; conforming to Uganda National Bureau of Standards and
International Standards. They also service their customers through Service
Centres at Tororo and Arua with employee strength of 350.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Process all local recruitment requests in
    an effective and efficient manner.
  • Manage Collective Bargaining and Union
    relationships.
  • Maintain up-to-date recruitment progress
    report, talent database and all related staffing communication.
  • Manage and maintain a Human Resources
    Information System (HRIS).
  • Track competencies of both permanent and
    casual staff and provide leadership and development as required to achieve
    their performance objectives.
  • Conduct Performance appraisal tor all
    staff, direct reports & ensure it is done for the rest of the
    production areas.
  • Managing, communicating and delivering
    important projects that impact other parts of the organization,
  • Identify key skills, specialty skills and
    propose training needs accordingly.
  • Conduct Health and Safety drills and
    refresher courses, environmental policies systems and processes.
  • Implement protective gear use and direct
    procedure in case of accidents.
  • Update workman’s compensation data in
    liaison with insurance service providers.
  • Monitor and alert Senior Management Team
    of any variance between the budgeted and Actual salaries and headcount.
  • To be in-charge of payroll administration
    and to make a smooth and efficient operation
    (variable compensation) overtime, expatriates compensation,
    special payments).
  • To detect and handle complaints, disputes
    and grievances of all staffs.
  • Manage the implementation ofl the
    performance, talent and reward.
  • Develop and manage Training and
    Development Plan.
  • Manage HR Budgets
 Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
  • Post Graduate Degree, preferably in HR
    Management;
  • At least 8 years HR experience preferably
    in an industrialized environment;
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Senior
    HR management capacity;
  • Membership of a professional HR Body,
  • Knowledge of all applicable HR related
    legislations in Uganda.
  • Requirement:
  • Post Graduate Degree, preferably in HR
    Management;
  • At least 8 years HR experience preferably
    in an industrialized environment;
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Senior
    HR management capacity;
  • Membership of a professional HR Body,
  • Knowledge of all applicable HR related
    legislations in Uganda.
