About UWESO:
UWESO is a National Non Government Organization committed to improving
the quality of life of the orphans and other vulnerable children. 
Job Summary:  The CEO is accountable for implementing
strategic goals and objectives of the organization in order to deliver UWESO’s
mandate. Together with the Board chairperson, the CEO will support the Board to
fulfill its governance functions and give direction and leadership toward
effective management of the institution and its entities.
Key Duties &
Responsibilities:
1. Board Administration and Support: Provide information and administrative support to the Board to
facilitate its operations.
2. Strategic Direction: Lead the formulation of UWESO’s
strategy in order to determine the direction of UWESO and its entities
Fundraising (nonprofit-specific): Design and implement fundraising
strategies to ensure that UWESO’s programs and activities are adequately
resourced.
3. Fiscal Management: Prepare financial plans for Board
approval and implement them to achieve UWESO’s mandate. Cost effectively
manages the institution’s resources in order to attain the highest value for
all stakeholders. Maintain an oversight of financial control and judicious
utilization of funds and other resources under UWESO and its entities in
accordance with set policies.
4. Program Delivery: Oversee the design, promotion and delivery
of quality programs and services
5. Management of other entities: Oversee the management of
Mugyera UWESO Training Institute (MUTI), Masulita Children’s Village (MCV) and
Success Microfinance Services (SMS).
6. Human Resource Management: Establish and/or review policies
to enable efficient management of UWESO’s human resources and create a
conducive work environment. Foster growth of a strong and productive senior
management team.
7. Community and Public Relations: Ensure that the organization
and its programs are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant
stakeholders. Foster communication between the Organization and NEC
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
  • Master’s Degree preferred in Business
    Administration, Social Sector Planning, Project Planning or Management
  • Continuous experience of 5 years in
    similar position
  • Proven leadership ability in Strategic
    Development
  • Proven experience in Resource Mobilization
    & fund development.
  • Ability to build a membership organization
  • Strong management and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both
    written and oral; strong presentation skills
  • Experience in Management of Micro finance
    institutions
  • Good Advocacy and negotiation skills
