  • Job SummaryThese
    shall include among others, improvement of the financial performance of the
    bank through the creation of profitable credit risk assets, ensure full
    compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements and, minimize
    non-performing loans for the bank.

  • Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • ·        
    Recommend/approve
    appropriate facilities, risk mitigants, structures, terms and conditions for
    the bank’s credits after appropriate analysis.
  • ·        
    Undertake
    independent third party risk analysis of credits and make appropriate
    recommendations.
  • ·        
    Ensure
    that front line managers and customers receive quality service and quick
    response to their requests while at the same time keeping all such exposures
    and/ or credits in line with the bank’s risk appetite.
  • ·        
    Ensure
    that all credit requests comply with the bank’s credit policy and procedure.
  • ·        
    Ensure
    that relevant credit approval procedures and processes are complied with at all
    times.
  • ·        
    Effectively
    coordinate the activities of the members of the credit department to ensure
    that performance targets are achieved.
  • ·        
    Regular
    coaching and development of subordinates.
  • ·        
    Enhance
    the credit skills and knowledge of relationship officers/managers through
    participation in their training and personal development.
  • ·        
    Manage
    the Strategic Asset Planning process in alignment to Ugandan Statutory and
    regulatory requirements as well as International best practices.
  • ·        
    Vet
    credit applications/proposals to ensure they comply with policy and product
    programs.
  • ·        
    Manage
    risk inherent in existing portfolio through Portfolio monitoring.
  • ·        
    Initiate
    and analyze credit reports for reporting, monitoring and planning purposes.
  • ·        
    Manage
    administrative aspects in Credit department: Documentation, security
    perfection, custody, disbursement, downgrading, write offs and reporting.
  • ·        
    Manage
    collections process of exceptions and Liaise with lawyers & Court Bailiffs
    through the legal department for collection of bad loans.

 Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • ·        
    Minimum
    education level; A University Degree and Credit/Finance related professional
    qualification/higher degree.
  • ·        
    Minimum
    7 years experience in bank Credit Environment.
  • ·        
    Exposure
    in corporate credit, analysis, deal structuring and business support is a must
