Job
Summary:
The Job holders
will provide in-depth and intensive technical assistance to the districts
through ensuring that strategies and priorities surrounding IUD, PAC services
provision are executed.  In addition, the
TMA coordinator will ensure that CCS&PT service provision in outreach
programs are executed.
Key
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Advocate
    for improved forecasting, procurement and distribution of IUDs and
    Misoprostol for PAC in the districts of focus;
  • Support
    District Health Officers and health facility in charges to mentor, coach
    and motivate staff to insert IUDs and address unsafe abortion through use
    misoprostol for PAC at public health Facilities;
  • Implement
    cancer of cervix screening and preventive therapy outreaches ensuring that
    data is collected, reported and ensure safety of CCS&PT equipment;
  • Collaborate
    with other Reproductive health partners to come up with strategies to
    increase the uptake of Reproductive Health services.
  • Ensure
    that all data from both the public and private health facilities is
    routinely captured in the district HMIS.
  • Align
    communications activities that promote uptake of IUDs and cancer of cervix
    screening and preventive therapy to the outreach programs.
  • Support
    the regional and district public health officers to integrate the national
    LARC strategy into their district plans.
  • Provide
    technical information to the process of identifying and mapping of
    facilities that should provide Long term family planning services.
  • Facilitate
    joint monthly district-level meetings with the District Public Health
    Office in each WHP focus district to review progress against the district
    plans to increase LARC service delivery, and to improve planning and
    supervision of IUD services.
  • Coach,
    mentor and motivate service providers within the public sector facilities
    ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Conduct
    medical detailing activities at selected public sector facilities to
    identify provider challenges and successes with IUD service provision and
    share information with District Health Officers to inform program planning
    and implementation.
 Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • Registered
    midwife or Clinical officer or an equivalent with at least 3 years of
    experience
  • Demonstrated
    ability to work with various partners including
  • MoH,
    Local governments, CBOs and other NGOs.
  • Knowledge
    of the National Reproductive Health environment  especially in areas of FP, PAC and cancer
    of cervix screening  and preventive
    therapy
  • Demonstrated
    ability to work with teams as well as  individually
  • Strong
    understanding of the ministry of health decentralized  systems of operation
  • Ability
    to work with minimum supervision
  • Excellent
    communication, written and presentation skills.
  • Report
    writing skills (timely and accurate)
  • Work
    plan development and budgetary skills.
  • Valid
    national driving permit with demonstrated ability to drive is an added
    advantage.
