Title: Senior Project Engineer
Organisation: Rural Electrification Agency (REA)
Reports to: Manager
Projects Development and Management
Duty
Station: Kampala, Uganda

The Rural Electrification
Agency is gradually progressing in implementing large scale Rural
Electrification Program intended to cover all the regions of the country,
Uganda. The implementation of the progamme demands extra manpower in the fields
of power management planning and design, construction management & project
management.

• Represent
  the Agency in the management of rural electrification construction works.
• Monitor
  progress and quality of construction works.
• Attend
  site meetings
• Liaise
  with local authorities to ensure smooth implementation of construction
  works.
• Monitor
  all environmental issues during construction and ensure compliance with
  safeguard requirements.
• Evaluate
  all compensations related to construction and resolve them amicably.
• Review
  payment certificates, consultancy fee notes and invoices to recommend as
  required.
•  Other duties as assigned by Head of
  Department.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• A
  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University
  with a bias in heavy current.
• Training
  in project management / Monitoring and Evaluation and Environmental
  studies will be an added advantage.
• 8
  years working experience , 5 of which should be in managing electric power
  network construction.
• Post
  graduate training in a related field would be an added advantage.
• Demonstrate
  experience in construction works preferably in electricity distribution.
• Have
  extensive knowledge of management of construction works.
• Experience
  with donor funded projects will be an added advantage.
• Proven
  ability to be part of senior management team.
• Good
  Interpersonal skills more so PR and communication skills.
• Good
  knowledge of power commissioning and maintenance practice.
