The American Embassy is seeking an individual for the position of
Administrative Assistant in the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement
Affairs (INL) Section.

Job Summary: The
Administrative assistant will provide administrative support services to the
INL Program Manager. She/He will also receive reviews and controls all
in-coming and out-going unclassified correspondence. Under the direction of the
PM, the administrative assistant will coordinate law enforcement training,
logistics and procurement requests. She/He will maintain accurate accounting of
all budgets.

Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:

NOTE:  All interested applicants

Education:
Completion of a university degree in social sciences, business administration,
public administration, development studies, ethics and development, finance,
accounts, commerce, social work and social administration, sociology, human
resources, education, psychology or information technology is required.
Work
Experience:
  Three years of hands on experience in managing
administration and accounting duties in a medium to a large organization is
required.
Language: 
Level IV English ability (fluent written, spoken and reading) and Level III
(Good working knowledge) in either Luganda, Swahili, Lusoga, Runyakitara, Luo,
Langi, Alur, Lugisu, Ateso or Acholi language ability is required.
Knowledge: 
Must possess relevant knowledge of general accounting and administrative
procedures. Must have a good understanding of the operations of Uganda Police
Force as far as Community Policing and Counterterrorism are concerned. 
Key
Skills and Abilities:
  Strong organizational skills are required
to manage a number of competing tasks. Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and work equally well with a
wide range of staff at all levels in the organization is required. Must be a
self-starter, able to identify priorities and meet deadlines with limited
supervision.
