 The American Embassy is seeking an individual for the position of Content Management Assistant in the Public Diplomacy Section.
 
Note:  All applicants who are not family members of USG employees officially assigned to post and under Chief of Mission authority must be residing in country and have the required work and/or residency permits to be eligible for consideration.
Job Summary:  Responsible for creating audio and video content, and printed publications to present U.S. Mission programs, as well as maintaining the Mission website and producing visually-appealing frames for web content. Incumbent will produce podcasts and help manage their distribution to radio stations around Uganda, and in consultation with the Information Assistant and PAO, propose video stories to highlight programs and events throughout the Mission.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Education required:  Completion of secondary school (both ‘O and A’) level and a university degree in business administration, liberal arts or science is required.
2. Prior Work Experience:  Three years experience in communications media and audio-visual production is required.
3.  Language Requirement: Level IV (fluent – written and spoken) English ability is required.
4.   Knowledge: Thorough technical knowledge of computer and audio-visual equipment, as well as editing programs to include garage band, final cut pro, soundtrack pro, iMovie, and Motion. Broad knowledge of Ugandan history and current affairs.
5.   Skills:  Ability to establish and maintain effective working level contacts in the communications media and with Post’s contacts. Interest in developing a monitoring and evaluation program to track broadcast of podcasts. Demonstrated ability in photography and graphic design.
