UNICEF Career Jobs – Communication Officer

Type and Duration of Appointment: Fixed-Term Appointment (One year with possible extension)
Job Purpose:
  • Under the close supervision of the Communication Specialist, the incumbent will assist in the planning, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of an advocacy and communication strategy, to promote respect for children’s and women’s rights and support UNICEF’s mission in the country.
  • The incumbent will provide feedback to Headquarters on the use and appropriateness of global publications and visual materials;
  • Observe the public perception of UNICEF in the country;
  • Assist in maintaining close collaboration with mass media, as well as with groups and organizations whose support is essential to the achievement of advocacy and communication strategy.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • University degree in communications, journalism, public relations; or equivalent professional work experience in the communication area, combined with a university degree in a related field.
  • Two years practical professional work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media.
  • Fluency in English is required and strong written and verbal communications skill therein strongly desirable.
