Us:
The SRHR Alliance is
seeking a suitable experienced and skilled person aged below 32 years to fill
the position. The Alliance programme aims to improve the Sexual and
Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) situation of young people through
improving access & quality o f SRHR education, improving access &
quality to S R H services & helping to create a more enabling environment
for SRHR. In Uganda 4 partner organisations implement the SRHR programme in
Eastern Uganda. Partners involved include Reproductive Health Uganda; Straight
Talk Foundation; School Net Uganda & Restless Development.
 
Job
Summary:
The job holder
will take responsibility of planning, coordinating , monitoring &
implementing of the “Encourage Youth Project.”
 
Key
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Develop and monitor implementation of
work plans & budgets.
· Take lead in reporting
against agreed plans in accordance with the set guidelines.
· Develop and implement
capacity building plans for the project target audience.
· Support Civil Society
Organizations (CSOs) in developing advocacy initiatives in line with the SRHR
Alliance strategy.
· Coordinate technical
assistance & mentorship to Alliance partners and stakeholders.
· Develop and implement a
strategy for periodic program reviews based on agreed period targets.
· Utilize effectively
project resources both financial and materials
· Participate in conducting
research activities related to the project.
· Initiate and maintain
partnerships and networks with district stakeholders for coordination and harmonising
SRHR interventions for young people.
 
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
· A University degree in
Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public health, or a related field. A Post
graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
· A minimum of 4 years
progressive work experience with a reputable Non-Governmental Organization.
· Have proven experience in
project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilisation ,
basic financial management, community mobilisation, training, advocacy,
mentorship and coaching.
· He/she should have
experience and interest in working with young people in the area of
SRHR/HIV/AIDS.
· Have key personal
competence in team work, networking and communication skills (oral and
written).
· He/she should be dynamic,
self driven, exhibit high initiative and work under minimum supervision has computer
software skills (standard applications in MS office).
