Nile and Eastern region.
Summary: Review and
monitor the implementation of systems and guidelines for providing
Pharmaceutical services in the region in line with Baylor-Uganda pharmacy
mission and related guidelines for NMS and MoH.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop
and implement quarterly regional activity work plan, procurement plan, and
budget for medical logistics activities and as well provide technical
support in the functionality of district procurement committees in the
region in line with Baylor-Uganda Medical logistics objectives and MoH
related guidelines. - Maintain
an updated hard copy records and electronic data bases for tracking of all
‘inventory and supplies’ received & stored at regional office and
issued to Baylor supported HFs as monitor the update of inventory records
and data bases per district in region in line with the Baylor-Uganda
pharmacy Operating Procedures. - Conduct
periodic needs assessment and build capacity of Health workers in Health
Facilities and at District involved in handling procurements, storage and
use of health commodities through training, mentorships and support
supervision in line with Baylor Uganda and MoH pharmaceutical SOPs. - Monitor
the forecasting and ordering process for each supported Health Facilities
in alignment to the national supply chain (NMS) for health commodities and
distribute buffer supplies as per the facility requests in case an
emergency and NMS supply chain delay in line with Baylor Uganda and MoH
pharmaceutical SOPs. - Perform
stock spot checks in selected supported Health Facilities and facilitate
both internal and external audits and provide all the necessary
information for the effective audit as well as follow up on the audit
recommendations in line with Baylor-Uganda, & MoH Pharmacy SOPs. - Monitor
the implementation of pharmacovigilance programs in supported Health
Facilities and support Health Workers to identify, manage and report
adverse drug reactions to National Drug Authority (NDA) for each district
in line with Baylor Uganda and MoH pharmaceutical SOPs. - Develop
and monitor the implementation of periodic performance targets for store
management and medical logistics supply chain then write and submit
periodic reports to key stakeholders in line with Baylor-Uganda pharmacy
Operating Procedures. - Develop
and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, and advocate for
coordinated and harmonized interventions in handling medical logistics
& buffer stock management Baylor Uganda Medical logistics objectives
and MoH related guidelines. - Carry
out operational research on the areas of supply chain and logistics to
guide and provide lessons to improve performance then document best work
practices in HFs and promote knowledge sharing through CMEs on areas of
health commodities new developments and changes in line with Baylor-Uganda
research guidelines and Pharmacy SOPs.
Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
The job holder should have:
- A
Relevant diploma in Pharmacy. However a Degree in Procurement and Supply
Chain management or professional qualifications in CIPS will be an added
advantage. - At
least two years of working experience in medical logistics work. - Have
Key personal competences in team and communication skills, Must be
dynamic, Persuasive &convincing, self-motivated and able to
demonstrate high initiative.
