2 Education Officers – Windle Trust Uganda (WTU)

About WTU:
Windle Trust Uganda (WTU) is a registered NGO whose primary mission is to equip refugees and others affected by conflict in Africa to meet the challenges of development through providing access to education, training opportunities through advocacy and direct programme activity. In partnership with the UNHCR and the Government of Uganda, WTU seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the following position in Nakivale refugee settlement in Isingiro district and Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement in Kamwenge District:
Job Purpose: The Education Officer is the WTU senior staff in the settlement and is responsible for, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the educational activities in the refugee settlement in partnership with the government departments and other agencies involved in community services in the settlements. The Education Officer will provide professional guidance, supervision, capacity building and management support to the primary and secondary schools. He /She will work to promoting quality education and community participation the running of the schools.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         Must have a degree in Education, or any other relevant degree with post graduate diploma in Education.
·         At least 4 years work experience in the relevant field and preferably in an NGO setting and willing to work and live under extremely difficult conditions.
·         Must be in position to ride a motor bicycle and have a riding permit.
·         Experience in computer spread sheet, excel and quick books.
