We help them fulfill their potential. In 2010, we reached more than 100 million children around the world. Save the Children seeks to fill the following vacant positions and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Persons.
Job Purpose:
  • The Logistics Manager is responsible and accountable for effective delivery of all logistics services for Save the Children, develop long term logistics strategies to support programmes and provide strategic leadership to the Officers and Staff of the Logistics, Procurement, fleet, Warehouse / Asset Management and construction.
  • He/she is responsible for ensuring effective coordination of service delivery and implementation of the sections activities.
  • The persons is also responsible for increasing the professional capacity of the section by providing constant on the job training and providing technical assistance and appropriate monitoring and evaluation in emergency responses.
 Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. Professional Qualifications in Fleet/ Logistics and Security Management is of added advantage.
  • At least 5 years working experience in a similar position in a reputable organization.
  • Good practical experience in logistics emergency response preparation and management
  • Basic knowledge of project management
  • A management style which emphasizes support, strategic thinking general guidance and delegation of authority.
  • Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Interpersonal skills, customer care skills, contributing to synergies and effective liaison between senior management, the unit staff and program staff.
  • Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
  • Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching
  • Excellent time management and planning capacity
