Job Title: Technical Advisor
Reports to: Executive Director
About USTP:
The Uganda Stop TB Partnership (USTP) is an amalgamation of organisations with a stake in the control of Tuberculosis in Uganda. Main objective is to accelerate achievements and ensure sustainability of the national Programme case detection and cure rate targets, providing accurate information about TB, Providing a platform for exchange of information, promoting advocacy, communication and social mobilisation for TB control and maintaining relations and subscribing to the objectives of the Global stop TB partnership. USTP is seeking to recruit an Executive Director to operate its Secretariat following the provisions of its constitution and working under the guidance of the coordinating Board of USTP and the Executive Secretary.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
·         Identify expert technical assistance as requested by partners, the NTLP, USTP officers and all affiliated projects.
·         Coordinate, facilitate and maintain knowledge of TB control approaches and trends.
·         Screen proposals and membership, financial or any other requests to the partnership.
·         Monitoring and Evaluation of the partnering process identify performance, gaps and ascertain adherence to NTLP policies and operational guidelines.
·         Liaison for initiatives that involve USTP as mediator / Monitor, representing USTP in technical working groups, conferences, meetings and search for funding opportunities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·         MBCHB degree or equivalent from a recognised institution.
·         Post graduate qualifications in Public Health or Community Health or Epidemiology.
·         Post graduate training in Tuberculosis or TB/HIV Programme management.
·         Nationally recognised expertise in at least one core aspect of TB control (Clinical tuberculosis, TB programme Management including M&E, TB/ HIV, TB Laboratory Service Management, MDR-TB, ACSM)
·         Competency in designing TB and TB/HIV Programmatic strategies.
·         Background in M&E of health programmes.
·         Ability to work with minimal supervision
·         Strong computer skills.
