Our Client, National Housing and Construction Company Limited (NHCC) is a 48 year old private limited liability company jointly owned by the Government of Uganda and the Government of Libya. The company’s major area of business is construction of residential and commercial buildings.

In an effort to ensure that our client carries out its mission successfully, we seek to recruit a visionary, strategic and dynamic individual to provide leadership as a Chief Executive Officer

Job Summary: To provide strategic and operational leadership to NHCC in line with the organization’s vision, mission, mandate and the set policies and guidelines

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
·         Initiate the preparation of NHCC strategic and operational plans, and budgets and submit to the Board for approval in line with the set policies and guidelines.
·         Provide policy direction in establishing and implementing NHCC marketing strategy that creates competitive positioning of the organization in line with the approved strategic plan.
·         Initiate the preparation and implementation of sound financial, accounting information systems and preparation of financial statements that meet operational procedures and regulatory requirements
·         Develop and implement NHCC human resource, talent and succession planning framework and strategy to attract and retain competitive staff in line with the strategic plan.
·         Develop and monitor strategies for producing long-term company profitability and financial viability in line with the set policies and guidelines.
·         Develop and implement a framework for timely reporting to the Board and other relevant stakeholders on the Company’s operational and financial performance and statutory requirements.
·         Develop and implement a framework for planning, managing and tracking organizational and staff performance in line with the set policies and guidelines.
·         Develop and implement a framework for cultivating and managing partnerships and corporate image.
·         Develop and implement a framework for enterprise risk management in line with the set policies and guidelines.
·         Develop and implement a framework for cultivating and promoting NHCC identity, culture, values, reputation and corporate image.
·         Develop and implement a framework for managing NHCC corporate resources and company assets.
·         Provides guidance and effective participation in the management of subsidiary companies in which NHCC has a stake.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management or a related field.
·         A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management and a related field will be an added advantage.
·         A minimum of 10 years of experience as a chief executive officer and/or performing executive level roles overseeing large, diverse groups and portfolios in a reputable organization.
·         A successful track record of performance at a high level management position.
·         Experience in dealing with board governance.
·         Experience in the construction industry will also be an added advantage

Contract terms and Remuneration: This is a high position with competitive terms and in which the incumbent will be offered on a three year renewable contract.
