Administrative Assistant Job at Trust for Africa’s Orphans Uganda

Reporting to the: Agribusiness Officer.
Duty station: Puranga Sub County, Pader District
About Organisation:
Trust for
Africa’s Orphans Uganda (TAOU) in partnership with TAO UK is implementing a
three-year Agribusiness project for women heads of families through growing sun
flower in Pader District. TAOU is therefore, seeking for a suitable candidate
for the post of Administrative Assistant.
The Administrative
Assistant will provide support to the effective implementation of the
Agribusiness for Women heads of families through sun flower growing in Puranga
sub county Pader District- a project funded by Comic Relief.



Key Duties and responsibilities:
  1. Prepare
    office requisitions/payments for approval by the Agribusiness Officer
  2. Handle
    office petty cash transactions
  3. Minute recording
    and producing minutes.
  4. General
    office management.
  5. Data
    recording/entry, analysis and retrieval.
  6. To be
    responsible for the Management and implementation of the M&E system for the
    project.
  7. Participate
    in database reporting according to the project requirements.
  8. Any other
    duties assigned
Qualifications, Experience and Essential Skills
  • A diploma
    in Secretarial Studies/IT and certificate in database management.
  • At least
    two years’ experience of as an Administrative Assistant with an NGO with proven
    data entry and analysis experience.

Skills:
  • Good
    understanding of administrative and general management principles
  • Self
    guided, strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to
    work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent
    ability to analyze information
  • Time
    management in delivery of M & E reports is extremely essential
  • Proven
    ability to work as part of a team, and as part of a wider network, is
    essential.
  • The commitment
    and drive to achieve challenging goals; a problem-solving attitude is
    essential.
  • Highly
    proficient in Ms Word, Excel, Access, Power-Point and the use of Internet for
    research’ as well as conversant with Statistical Analysis.
  • Ability to
    speak fluently in Luo is very essential
