Duties & Responsibilities
Under the general supervision and direction of the Officer in Charge of workshop /MTO, the incumbent will perform;
  • Complete maintenance and repairs on all United Nations owned light passenger vehicles (LPV’s) operated by MONUSCO in accordance with the manufactures’ specification and to the highest standards;
  • Ensure that all spare parts, filters, lubricants, etc, issued for each repair are correctly documented on the vehicle work order;
  • Ensure that all old replaced parts are returned to the store unit;
  • Assist in recovering or repairing vehicles on site which cannot be delivered to the workshop for repairs;
  • Ensure that your presence within the workshop is consistent with working hours and all inspections /repair tasks assigned to you are completed in a timely manner;
  • Ensure the security of all UN owned equipment provided for use within the workshop area;
  • Maintaining the neatness of the working area, tool box and clothing free of debris and/or flammable material(oil/gas oil products, etc);
  • Assist the workshop team with any additional tasks as required by the OIC Transport ,workshop and/or your supervisor.
Qualifications: High school diploma and or an equivalent of a Certificate of a Motor vehicle mechanic.
Work Experience: At least a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of motor vehicle mechanics.
Other: A valid Ugandan light vehicle driving mechanic.
