Job Title: Regional Coordinators (08 Positions)

MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program
Based on the understanding that the future of Africa will be determined majorly by the youth, the MasterCard Foundation has launched a scholar’s program the BRAC will be partnering with the Foundation to implement This Program me in Uganda. The vision of the program is to educate and develop bright, yet economically marginalized young people in Africa who have a demonstrated ‘ give-back” ethos, and who will contribute to the transformation of the continent. And it is on this note that BRAC Uganda invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill up the above vacant positions:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing programme implementation as per the agreement with MasterCard Foundation and the roles will include among others;
  • Support implementation of all activities. (Scholar selection and recruitment, educational support, comprehensive student support services, network of high quality institutions and alumni network) are implemented according to key deliverables agreed with MasterCard Foundation for respective regions, this includes:
  • Ensure selection and recruitment of scholars are done in a participatory and transparent manner
  • Follow up with scholars enrolled in their region by making regular supervision visits and maintaining close contact with scholars, teachers (particularly teacher mentors), parents, communities etc.
  • Implement enrichment and give back components by following up on various trainings, community work by scholars etc..
  • Assist in the organising of the leadership congress of scholars
  • Assist in establishing a scholars’ alumni network
  • Ensure financial management and accountability for the programme by ensuring cost and cash management is as per procedures
  • Ensure efficient and effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders regarding the programme
  • Establish and maintain liaison with existing and potential programme partners and explore potential partnerships for the benefit of the programme
  • Work closely with other BRAC programmes in the region
  • Any other task assigned to achieve the vision of the programme
  • Reporting and analysis of various programme initiatives, this will include;
  • Report on programme achievements to the Assistant Programme Manager.
  • Bring to the attention of the management any gaps in programme planning and implementation
  • Prepare programme reports as required
  • Support research, monitoring, communication activities of the programme.
  • Ensure cross learning with other programmes and work in partnership with all BRAC programmes, particularly youth programmes.
 Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • More than 04 years working experience with development programme management expertise. And also experience in working with a multicultural environment,
  • Experience of working in programme implementation, specifically in secondary education and/or working with young people
  • Good team player and demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Previous knowledge and experience of working with BRAC
Job Location: Field based (up-country)
Direct supervisor: Program Manager
Salary: Level 10, According to BRAC Uganda’s salary standard structure.
