NGO Head Driver Job at Stop Malaria Project
Location: Kampala, Uganda
The Stop Malaria Project (SMP) is a five-year USAID funded initiative awarded in September 2008. The project is being implemented by a consortium of partners led by the Johns Hopkins University, 8loomberg School of Public Health, Center for Communication Programs (JHU/CCP). Other Partners include Malana Consortium. Communication tor Development Foundation Uganda (CDFU) and Infectious Diseases Institute Limited (IDI). SMP is recruiting for position of Head Driver.
The Head Driver shall be responsible for supervising a team of 7 drivers, planning and coordinating transportation needs, handling insurance and maintenance issues, ensuring proper vehicle documentation and efficient vehicle operation and passenger safety, submitting among others overtime and monthly fuel consumption reports, providing driving services and take on other responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge of SMP’s districts of operation and previous work with USAID- funded projects is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Holder of valid driver’s license (with at least 3 groups ) with at least 10 years of driving experience
- An A’ Level certificate with specialized driving/vehicle courses and fluent in English
- Good communication, mathematical and mechanical skills
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent time management and problem solving skills
- A team player with ability to lead and motivate others,
- Quick-thinking, innovative, organised, honest, dependable and can work independently
- Strong sense of self motivation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to professionally handle stressful and difficult situations
