Head – AIDS Prevention Career Job at Uganda AIDS Commission
Reports to: Director, Policy Research & programming
Salary scale: UAC4
Responsible for: HIV/AIDS Prevention Officer
Purpose of the Job: To coordinate the multi-sectoral prevention programme for HIV/AIDS to check on its prevalence in the country.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To formulate and implement suitable HIV/AIDS prevention strategies programme for the national response.
- To coordinate the implementation of the national HIV/AIDS prevention strategies and programme.
- To develop proposals for the mobilization of resources to support the national HIV/AIDS response.
- To provide technical support to decentralized structures in order to cascade prevention intervention at the lower levels.
- To monitor and supervise stakeholder-led prevention programmes
- To mobilize key stakeholders such as Religious and Cultural leaders so as to participate in HIV/AIDS prevention activities.
- To prepare periodic reports on the status of HIV/AIDS epidemic for management decision making.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelors Degree in MBCHB or an equivalent from a recognized institution.
- A Masters Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or a related field Experience
- A minimum of Eight (08) years working experience, Three (3) of which must have been at a senior level in Government, NGO or a reputable organization
- Proficiency in proposal writing.
