Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Uganda Clays Ltd is a major manufacturer and supplier of clay baked building products in the East African region. The head offices are located at Kajjansi 14 km on Entebbe road, the Company has two factories at Kajjansi and Kamonkoli in Eastern Uganda .Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and dynamic individuals for the following posts:
Job Title: Finance Manager
Reporting to: Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
The Finance Manager is a top management position reporting directly to the Managing Director on a three (3) year renewable contract. The Finance Manager Directly supervises the Cost Accountant and
Financial Accountant.
Main Purpose of the Job:
  • To safe guard Company’s assets by developing and maintaining an effective finance and accounting function.
  • To maintain accurate financial and accounting records and provide Management with reports and information for performance evaluation, planning and decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Planning, supervising and coordinating all activities in the department and providing professional and administrative guidance and advice to management.
  • Receiving, interpreting and executing all finance decisions made by the Board of Directors and as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Compiling annual estimates and, through the CEO, presenting to the Board of Directors for approval. ork periodically preparing statements indicating the company performance and financial position.
  • Developing and maintaining an efficient system of budgetary control.
  • Maintaining all accounting and financial data and systems necessary to record all transactions of the company in accordance with generally accepted international accounting standards and provisions of the Companies Act.
  • Ensuring that all accounting procedures and documents are adhered to safe guard Company assets.
  • Ensuring that all revenues due to the company are properly recorded, banked and accounted for.
  • Ensuring that all expenditures are properly and genuinely authorized and accounted for.
  • Ensuring that Government taxes are paid on time and other statutory deductions made at the source are properly accounted for.
  • Appraising all proposed capital projects and investments.
  • Preparing and presenting the financial statements.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Should possess a Degree in Accounting.
  • Should be a qualified member of a recognised professional Accountancy body.
  • A postgraduate degree in business administration will be an added advantage.
  • Should be having a working experience of at least ten (10) year of which four (4) should be in senior position in a medium or large sized company.
