Temporary Field Supervisors at Economic Development Policy and Research Department

Job Title: Temporary Field Supervisors (6 Positions)
Location:  Uganda
Background: The Economic Development Policy and Research Department (EDPRD) in the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MFPED) is mandated to generate and apply evidence-based analysis to inform Government decision making on economic development policy and national development. In pursuit of its mandate, EDPR wishes to recruit six (6)temporary Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) Fieldwork Supervisors for a period of 6 months under the DFID funded Strengthening of Evidence Based Decision Making (SEBDM) II project.
Job Description: Successful applicants will facilitate in the PLA fieldwork preparatory training programmes jointly with the technical staff in the Ministry, supervise area specific teams, provide quality assurance and manage logistics in fieldwork phases, participate in data analyses, report writing and in all fora to discuss and validate their findings. They will also execute any other relevant tasks assigned time to time.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
·         A Masters degree in Social Sciences and related fields (PhD and or knowledge of Atlas ti data analytical tool is an added advantage), skills backed by hands on experience in a related
·         PLA research position of at least three (3) years, superior PLA research data analysis and report writing skills.
·         Ability to provide team leadership, work in hard to reach communities and manage logistics is a plus.
·         Good command of computer skills is a must.
·         Major Deliverables: These include Daily Exercise reports, Site and Validation Workshop reports.
