Share An Opportunity Uganda (SAO-U) is a Christian founded child focused NGO empowering households and communities to fulfill their obligations in child Care and development and is affiliated to Baptist Union of Uganda. Share An Opportunity -Uganda’s key thematic areas are child health, Basic Education for OVCs, Child Advocacy, Enterprise Development and food security, institutional development for community based Organizations’ while HIV/AIDs is mainstreamed in the program.
SAO- Uganda is looking for competent, proven persons to fill the following position
Reports: National Director
Duties & Responsibilities
·         Identify data needs, and then implement, manage and update project-related MIS ensuring they are well aligned with the program’s technical parameters and maintain an operational focus.
·         Design a process documentation protocol, undertake periodic process documentation, manage process documentation data and supply data to SAO management and other staff when requested.
·         Work with the project staff on planned Field Researches and assist and contribute to the research as required and assist staff in the administration of data collection tools
·         Participate in Project activities and support internal and external communications as well as process documentation activities in close coordination with the Programme Manager.
·         Coordinate with government and non­government organizations, as well as communities in documentation of project activities
·         Work with the programme staff to design quantitative research tools, supervise research, and analyze survey data, ensuring integrity of data.
·         Review the quality of existing social and •economic data in the project area, the methods of collecting it and the degree to which it will provide good baseline statistics .for impact evaluation.
·         Assist in analysis of data in order to provide to internal learning tools,. contribute to donor reports, and contribute to achieving the overall goal and objectives of the SAO Programme.
·         Participate in all technical, status & other reports writings in time, Creating concept papers, proposals and budgets for funding, as needed.
·         Develop the overall framework for project M&E, for example, annual project reviews, participatory impact assessments, process monitoring, operations monitoring and lessons-learned workshops.
·         Guide the process for identifying and designing the key indicators for each component, to record and report physical progress against the AWPB. Also steer the process for designing the format of such progress reports.
·         Review project reports; analyze them for impact evaluation and to identify the causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementation.
·         Undertake regular visits to the field to support implementation of M&E and to identify where adaptations might be needed, document success stories and case studies lessons learnt for future fundraising purposes.
·         Spearhead the production of programme reports, Newsletters, brochures, videos and other promotional materials for SAO Uganda.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
·         Bachelors/Masters Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, communication or Statistics desired
·         Excellent writing and communication skills
·         Demonstrated experience in Monitoring arid Evaluation of community development projects.
·         Demonstrated experience in qualitative research as relates to process documentation and open-ended interviewing
·         At least 5 years experience in similar position with a reputable organization
·         Ability to relate and work in a multicultural team is desired
·         Ability to initiate tasks and deliver results
·         Use of statistical packages to interpret data desired
·         IT skills will be an added advantage
