Grants Assistant  – CATALIST-Uganda Project
The International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) is a public international organization (PIO) governed by an international board of directors with representation from developed and developing nations. The non-profit center focuses on increasing and sustaining food and agricultural productivity in developing countries through the development and transfer of effective and environmentally sound crop nutrient technology and agribusiness expertise. IFDC is recruiting staff for the 4-year CATALIST-Uganda Project, funded by DGIS through the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Kampala.
The primary responsibilities of the Grants Assistant will include: preparing grant proposals and reports for submission; compiling and updating all data relating to the CATALIST project in Uganda; maintaining the grants calendar to ensure compliance and all deadlines are met; draft progress reports; and conduct prospect research.
Required Skills
·         Coordinate internally with staff to assemble program and financial data for applications, reports;
·         Assist with the generation of data reports for grants;
·         Maintain the grant office – file grant proposals, applications, research, etc.;
·         Assist in the preparation of grant proposals (copying, assembling, etc);
·         Maintain and update grant attachment library;
·         Conduct research and work with staff to gather client, organizational and industry statistics for use in grants;
·         Coordinate with and support Grant Administrative Manager;
·         Conduct grant-related research as assigned;
·         Assist in preparing grant reports;
·         Coordinate with Development staff on mailings to grantors;
·         Draft proposals, reports and correspondence as needed;
·         Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Experience
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration (BA) or other related field.
·         At least three years experience working in similar position with an international organization.
·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·         Excellent organizational and administrative skills with a strong attention to detail.
·         Team player, with ability to work with people from different nationalities and backgrounds.
·         Proficient in use of computers, Microsoft Office, and internet.
